In a shocking turn of events, BP has declined the help of one of our worlds top oceanic experts… James Cameron?

Yes that’s right, last month Cameron voiced his outrage that the company had chosen to forego his help and advice in what is now shaping up to be one of the most devastating oil spills of all time. He was featured in THE WEEK Magazine last week proving that it will take more than a resounding “NO” from one of the world’s most lucrative oil companies to fend off Cameron’s help,

“So unconvinced is Cameron by BP’s response to the spill that he brought together more than 20 scientists, engineers and federal officials in Washington on Tuesday to brainstorm a new solution “I know a lot of smart people who regularly work a whole lot deeper than that well,” he commented”- THE WEEK

And while I have no doubt that the director’s experience underwater during the filming of the 1989 Blockbuster hit The Abyss made him an expert on all problems concerning the deep ocean, BP seems unconvinced that Cameron could really help. However, BP as well as the rest of us cant afford to turn away from any and all help being offered, so lets hope they can find a solution so– with, or without Cameron’s help.
